Captain Josh Anderson (402-432-7687) is the Field Commander of the First Nebraska Volunteer Infantry and William Deardoff (402-639-3054) is our President and runs the monthly meetings.
- February 12: Abe Lincoln’s Birthday – Guard Duty at State Capitol

April 1 – 2, 2022 – 160th Anniversary Battle of Shiloh – First Nebraska not participating as a unit. If interested you can go on your own and contact Josh Anderson to be attached to a another company that is attending and handle registration.

April 30 – May 1, 2022 – Fort Hartsuff by Ord, First Nebraska Spring Muster

May 20 – 22, 2022 – Battle of Carthage, Missouri reenactment. First Nebraska will portray Union Militia. Wearing gray or similar long battle shirts, no blue sack coats, black slouch type hats, no forage caps or kepis, some wearing white leathers or at least straps and belts, troops fell in as civilian and pre-issue Militia dress for this one.

May 30, 2022 – Traditional Memorial Day – Services at Wyuka, Lincoln Memorial and Calvary Cemeteries in Lincoln, Prospect Hill Cemetery in Omaha, and at Wisner and Pilger Cemeteries.

July 2 – 4, 2022 – July 4th celebration at National Guard Museum in Seward, NE. This year featuring Mary Todd Lincoln and Abraham Lincoln portrayals with Ball, Living History, Exhibits and Parade.

July 15 – 17, Camp Creek Threshers Tractor show in Waverly, NE. First Nebraska living history, may be one day event this year. Good family event – good old fashioned fun, ice cream, parade, old time cars, tractors, and trains.

July 16, 2022 – Stirrup Days parade in Ashland, NE in the morning.
- August 12 – 14, 2022 – Civil War reenactment in Canton, South Dakota, Dave Renli, Colonel of Muddy River Battalion and 13 US Infantry is hosting the event. First Nebraska will be portraying Confederates (6th Arkansas) at this one.

September 2 – 4, 2022 – Fort Atkinson, NE – Military timeline would like to have Civil War soldiers out for living history. They will have French and Indian War up to maybe 20th Century War impressions there.

October 8 – 9, 2022 – Brownville, NE. Civil War reenactment. This is a good one with street fighting throughout the town and very good battle on Sunday afternoon in the park. Good family event.

October 21 – 23, 2022 – Bellevue Berry Farm in Papillion, NE. Civil War living history camp. In the evening we scare people on hay rack rides as they move through theBerry Farm. 11001 South 48th Street Papillion, NE 68133

December 2 – 4, 2022 – Battle of Prairie Grove, AR on the original battlefield site by the Borden House. This is a good one on the real ground it was fought on, beautiful park to camp in and always a good event.

December 17, 2022 – Wreaths Across America – Ceremonies at Wyuka and Calvary Cemeteries in Lincoln, Wisner Pilger cemeteries and observances in Omaha.Ceremony begins at 11:00 am to coincide with main ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.
